Barcelona overcomes Racing Santander trap and continues their title defense
Barcelona booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey after a deserved 2–0 victory over Racing Santander, continuing their journey as the defending champions.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, with limited clear chances for both sides. Barcelona managed to break the deadlock in the second half, as Ferran Torres opened the scoring in the 66th minute following a precise assist from Fermín López.
Racing Santander tried to get back into the game, but VAR ruled out two goals scored by Manex Lozano in the 77th and 87th minutes for offside.
In stoppage time, Lamine Yamal sealed the win with a second goal in the 90+6 minute, assisted by Raphinha, confirming Barcelona’s superiority and qualification.
With this victory, Barcelona confidently continue their Copa del Rey campaign, aiming to successfully defend their title and move closer to another trophy.
