Ancelotti Shocks Neymar with Indirect Message
The head coach of the Brazilian national team, Carlo Ancelotti, clarified his position on the possibility of calling up a player who is not fully fit to participate in the upcoming World Cup matches, in an indirect reference to star Neymar Junior.
Ancelotti said in a press conference: "Will you take a player to the World Cup who cannot play at full intensity for 90 minutes but can make a difference in the last half hour of the match? I might include a player who is not fully ready for the first or second match, but I will not take a player who does not have the physical strength to compete in the World Cup. We need players at the highest physical level."
These comments from the Italian coach come amid calls from Brazilian fans to include Neymar in the national team roster, despite his absence from the last list announced by the coaching staff in preparation for the upcoming international break.
The Brazilian national team is scheduled to play two friendly matches against Senegal and Tunisia on November 15 and 18, respectively, as part of their preparations for the World Cup finals.
