Donnarumma after his transfer to Manchester City: Everything here is amazing and I aspire to be a club legend
Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma, the new Manchester City goalkeeper, expressed his happiness with his transfer to the “Citizens” last summer, pointing to his great enthusiasm for his new experience.
Donnarumma transferred to Manchester City in the last summer transfer window from Paris Saint-Germain, in a deal that cost the English club about 30 million euros.
Donnarumma left Paris Saint-Germain last summer after he was out of the team's technical plans, led by Spaniard Luis Enrique, especially after signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille.
Donnarumma: I realize the magnitude of the responsibility
Donnarumma said, during statements to the official website of Manchester City club: “I am very happy and excited; because I am here at one of the best clubs in the world. It is a great club with a constant desire to win. I realize the magnitude of the responsibility, but I am proud to be here to help it achieve victory.”
He added: “Milan and Paris Saint-Germain played a big role in my development, and I will always be grateful to these two clubs, but currently I am focusing on the new challenge here at Manchester City to make history, and to become a legend for the club and the city.”
He continued: “I want to make the fans proud of us, and for us to win more titles together. We are here at a historic club that deserves to always be at the top.”
He continued: “I am happy with the choice I made and proud to be here at Manchester City. I have been following this team and it has always impressed me.”
What did Donnarumma say about the atmosphere at Manchester City?
He added: “We don’t realize the true value of the club until you see it with your own eyes. Everything here is amazing; the buildings, training facilities, staff, and the atmosphere.”
He concluded: “I came with my family on the first day, and my feeling was that this club is like a family. Everyone here is smiling and happy, and I am excited to start this adventure.”
