Real Madrid settled the contract deal with Portuguese star Bernardo Silva, after reaching a final agreement between all parties, making the former Manchester City player the most recent signing of the Royal Club during the current summer Mercato.
Bernardo Silva was the subject of interest and follow-up from several major European clubs, most notably Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona, but Real Madrid succeeded in deciding the race and snatching the player’s signature in the last moments.
The Portuguese coach José Mourinho played. He played a pivotal role in completing the deal, as he placed his compatriot Bernardo among his priorities since he took over the leadership of the team, and asked the management to move quickly to close the file, which actually happened after intense negotiations that ended with the player agreeing to the new sports project in the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid continues its strong activity in the transfer market this summer, having previously succeeded in contracting Ibrahima Konaté and Denzel Dumfries, in addition to contracting with Jose Mourinho to lead the team technically, before now adding a name. A new high-caliber team with the inclusion of Bernardo Silva.
These moves confirm Real Madrid's intention to build a new project capable of competing locally and in Europe, while strengthening the team with elements possessing experience and quality at the highest levels.
