Barcelona's talent attracts the attention of the Premier League amid the uncertainty of its future
Uncertainty surrounds the future of young Swedish winger Ronnie Bardji with Barcelona, in light of the growing interest in his services before the start of the next summer transfer period, amid indications that he may leave in search of a greater opportunity to participate on a regular basis.
According to a report published by the “TEAMtalk” website, the 20-year-old player has become the subject of follow-up by several clubs in the English Premier League, as Leeds United, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Brentford have all expressed interest in his services. Everton is interested in contracting with him during the next Mercato.
The report indicated that Barcelona’s management does not mind the idea of loaning the player in order to give him a greater opportunity to gain experience and get regular playing minutes, while maintaining his association with the club in the long term. The option to sell also remains on the table if a suitable financial offer is received that meets the management's aspirations.
This interest comes at a time when Bardji is spending a rest period after his absence from Sweden's roster participating in the World Cup, while he suffered difficulty in imposing himself fundamentally within the Barcelona squad during his first season, as a result of the strong competition in his position, especially with the presence of young star Lamine Yamal.
During his first season in a Barcelona shirt, Bardji participated in 28 matches in various competitions, during which he scored two goals and provided four goals. He made assists, but his total playing minutes did not exceed 864 minutes, which prompted a number of English clubs to closely monitor his situation in preparation for moving to include him during the coming period.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Bardji’s future remains open to several possibilities, in light of increasing interest in his services and a clear desire to obtain a greater role that contributes to his continued development in the coming years.
