A deal worth 45 million euros... Manchester United strengthens its midfield with the Calcio star
Manchester United has finalized its agreement with Atalanta to sign Brazilian midfielder Ederson, in one of the club's most prominent deals during the current summer transfer period.
According to what was reported by reliable journalist David Ornstein, all parties have reached a final agreement regarding the deal, as the player is scheduled to sign a long-term contract extending until the summer of 2030, with a clause giving the club the option to extend for an additional season.
The total value of the deal is about 45 million. Euros, distributed between 40.5 million euros as a fixed value, in addition to 4.5 million euros in the form of bonuses and variables related to the player’s performance and the team’s results during the contract period.
Ederson is expected to undergo medical examinations in the coming days, in preparation for completing the official procedures and announcing his joining the ranks of Manchester United, after he expressed his final approval to go through the new experience in the English Premier League.
The English club’s move towards including the Brazilian international comes after the distinguished levels he presented with the club. Atalanta during the last two seasons, where he imposed himself as one of the most prominent midfielders in the Italian League thanks to his great abilities in seizing the ball, putting pressure on opponents, and connecting the lines between defense and attack.
Manchester United management believes that Ederson represents an important addition to the technical project that the club is working on building in preparation for the next season, especially in light of the need to strengthen the midfield with elements that possess the quality and experience necessary to compete in various tournaments.
The official announcement of the deal is expected to be made immediately upon completion of the checks. Medical and final signing of contracts, making Ederson one of the most prominent new faces in the ranks of Manchester United before the start of the 2026-2027 season.
