Real Madrid officially announced the date of the club's presidential elections for the year 2026, after the Electoral Committee confirmed that the voting process would be held on June 7, in an event that is the first of its kind within the Royal Club since the 2006 elections.
Real Madrid explained, through an official statement issued by the Electoral Committee, the adoption of two official lists to run for the presidency, the first led by current president Florentino Pérez, who seeks to continue his career at the head of the club's management, and the second headed by Enrique José. Riquelme.
The statement stated that the electoral committee, after reviewing all the documents and files submitted by the candidates, officially approved the two lists qualified to run in the elections for the president and members of the club’s board of directors during the next stage.
According to what was reported by the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, these elections will be the first that Real Madrid has witnessed since 2006, when Ramon Calderon won the presidency of the club, following the resignation of Florentino Pérez during his first term.
