AC Milan announced, through its official website, the start of a new phase within the club by making broad changes and a comprehensive restructuring of the football sector, following the end of a season that the management described as disappointing.
The official statement explained that the main goal set by the management before the start of the season was to ensure a return to the Champions League, in addition to building a team capable of continuously competing for the Italian League title in the coming years.
The club indicated that the team remained in first and second place in the table throughout large periods of the season. The Serie A standings, as it entered into a strong competition for the “Scudetto” title, before its level clearly declined during the final stage of the season.
The statement added that losing the last match caused the loss of the primary goal that the club had set from the beginning, which prompted the management to take decisive decisions in order to rearrange the entire sporting project.
Milan confirmed in its statement that the duties of CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, and coach Massimiliano Allegri were terminated, in addition to To technical director Geoffrey Moncada, immediately.
The company that owns the club also sent a message of thanks to all the officials who left their positions, in appreciation for the efforts and work they provided during their time within the club.
