Pyramids wins the Egypt Cup final against Zed in an exciting match
Pyramids FC achieved a valuable victory over ZED FC with a score of 2-1, in the match that brought together the two teams on Sunday evening at Cairo International Stadium, within the Egypt Cup final.
The match witnessed a strong start by Pyramids, which imposed its control over the course of the game from the first minutes, and succeeded in translating its advantage into the goal of taking the lead through Karim Hafez in the first minute of stoppage time for the first half, after he scored from a successful penalty kick to end the game. The first half led Pyramids by one goal without a response.
With the start of the second half, Pyramids continued their offensive pressure and Fiston Mayele succeeded in strengthening the score by scoring the second goal in the 57th minute, bringing his team closer to clinching the title.
Zed tried to return to the atmosphere of the match during the last minutes, taking advantage of the numerical deficiency in the Pyramids ranks after Mostafa Ziko was sent off in the 81st minute after receiving a direct red card.
Raafat succeeded. Khalil narrowed the gap in favor of Z by scoring his team’s first goal in the second minute of stoppage time, but Pyramids maintained their lead until the final whistle to settle the confrontation with a score of 2-1.
The match witnessed a relative offensive superiority for Pyramids, who shot 11 balls compared to 7 for Z, while Z had 59% possession of the ball compared to 41% for Pyramids, in a match characterized by strength and intensity until the final moments.
