A lackluster performance from United... and a scoreless draw away from home

Manchester United was content with a goalless draw against its host Sunderland, in the confrontation that brought them together this evening at the Stadium of Light, in the 36th round of the English Premier League.

Manchester United did not provide the expected performance, especially during the first half, as the team seemed far from its usual attacking level, at a time when Sunderland imposed its advantage over the course of the game and succeeded in creating more than one dangerous opportunity, but the brilliance of the Red Devils goalkeeper kept the score scoreless.

And with The start of the second half, Manchester United tried to improve its attacking image and put greater pressure on the hosts’ defence, while Sunderland continued its threat through quick counterattacks, so that the match remained open until the final minutes.

United intensified its attempts in search of the winning goal at the end of the match, but Sunderland’s defensive organization and the brilliance of its goalkeeper prevented the team from reaching the net, so the match ended in a goalless draw.

With this result, Manchester United raised its score to 65 points in third place in the table. The English Premier League, while Sunderland reached point 48 in eleventh place.

This tie comes days after Manchester United succeeded in officially clinching its qualification to the Champions League for next season.
