Arteta leads the European dream...and the administration responds with a new contract
English press reports revealed moves within Arsenal to secure the future of Spanish coach Mikel Arteta, by working to extend his contract during the coming period, in light of the great conviction in what he offers with the team.
Arteta is living a distinguished period with the London club, after he succeeded in leading the team to the Champions League final this season, after beating Atletico Madrid with a score of 2-1 on aggregate in the two semi-final matches.
According to what the journalist confirmed. Italian Fabrizio Romano, the Arsenal management took the decision to extend the Spanish coach’s contract since last March, without linking the matter to the team’s results at the end of the season.
Romano indicated that Arteta is currently putting his full focus on competing for championships, but at the same time he feels satisfied with the club’s sporting project, and is looking forward to opening the door to official negotiations soon in order to reach a new agreement.
The Spanish coach took over the leadership of Arsenal in December 2019, and has succeeded since then in Returning the team to compete in local and continental championships, while its current contract extends until the summer of 2027.
Arsenal continues to present a strong season in the English Premier League, as it leads the standings with 76 points, five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, with the latter having a game in hand.
