In the deadly time... Real Madrid falters and moves away from the top
Real Madrid fell into the trap of a fatal draw against Real Betis, with a score of 1-1, in the confrontation that brought them together in the thirty-second round of the Spanish League at La Cartuja Stadium.
The Royal team started the match well, as it was able to open the scoring in the 17th minute through Vinicius Junior, taking advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper after a powerful shot by Federico Valverde, to easily put it into the net.
And before the end of the first half, Real’s performance improved. Betis clearly succeeded in threatening Real Madrid's goal with several dangerous attempts, but goalkeeper Andrey Lunin shone and saved more than one chance, preserving his team's progress.
In the second half, Real Madrid tried to consolidate the score through several attacks, but lacked accuracy in the final touch. On the other hand, Betis continued his quest to equalize, until he succeeded in snatching a fatal goal in the 90+3 minute from Hector Bellerin.
With this result, Real Madrid raised the score. Its score reached 74 points in second place, 8 points away from leaders Barcelona, while Real Betis raised its score to 50 points in fifth place.
