Officially... Georgios Donis will lead the Saudi national team until 2027
The Saudi Football Federation announced its official contract with Greek coach Georgios Donis to lead the Saudi national team during the next stage.
Donis’s contract extends until July 2027, to succeed French coach Hervé Renard, following the termination of the contractual relationship between the two parties earlier.
The Greek coach has extensive coaching experience, having led a number of clubs in Europe and the region, most notably AEK Athens and PAOK, in addition to his many experiences in the league. Saudi Arabia.
Donis has previously worked within Saudi football by coaching Al-Hilal, Al-Wahda and Al-Fateh, in addition to his recent experience with the Gulf, which gives him good knowledge of the nature of local competitions.
Donis achieved several achievements during his coaching career, including winning the league and cup titles in Cyprus, as well as achieving local championships during his periods in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi national team is preparing to enter the final stage of the preparation program to participate in the World Cup. 2026.
A press conference is scheduled to be held in Riyadh to introduce the new technical staff, before heading to the preparatory camp in the United States of America.
