An unexpected fall.. Liverpool stumbles against Brighton
Liverpool suffered a surprise loss to its host, Brighton & Hove Albion, with a score of 2-1, in the confrontation that brought the two teams together at the “Amex Stadium”, in the 31st round of the English Premier League.
The hosts scored early, after Danny Welbeck opened the score in the 14th minute, before Liverpool was able to adjust the balance in the 30th minute through Milos Kerkez, ending the first half in a draw.
In the second half, they returned. Brighton settled the confrontation in their favor, as Welbeck took advantage of a cross that arrived inside the penalty area, and easily put it into the net, scoring the winning goal, after a prepared pass from his colleague in front of the goal.
With this result, Liverpool’s score temporarily stopped at 49 points in fifth place, while Brighton raised its score to 43 points to temporarily rise to eighth place in the English Premier League table.
