Real Madrid keeps the pressure on Barcelona… four goals past Elche

Real Madrid secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Elche CF in Matchday 28 of La Liga at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The home side opened the scoring in the 39th minute through Antonio Rüdiger.

Just before halftime, Federico Valverde doubled the lead in the 44th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box after a pass from Fran García.

In the second half, Dean Huijsen made it 3-0 in the 66th minute with a header from a cross by Daniel Yáñez.

Elche pulled one back in the 85th minute after an own goal by Manuel Ángel.

However, Arda Güler sealed the win with a spectacular long-range goal in the 89th minute from near the halfway line.

Real Madrid now have 66 points in second place, just one point behind FC Barcelona.
