Terrifying night in the Champions League… Bayern scores six goals against Atalanta
Bayern Munich secured a dominant 6–1 victory over Atalanta in the first leg of the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League, putting the German giants in a commanding position to reach the quarter-finals.
Bayern’s strong start
Bayern began the match aggressively and opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Josip Stanišić.
The Bavarian side quickly doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute when Michael Olise found the net, before Serge Gnabry added a third just three minutes later.
Total dominance
In the second half, Bayern continued their attacking dominance. Nicolas Jackson scored the fourth goal in the 52nd minute, while Michael Olise netted his second and Bayern’s fifth in the 64th minute.
Young star Jamal Musiala completed the scoring with the sixth goal in the 68th minute.
Atalanta managed to score a consolation goal in stoppage time through Mario Pašalić in the 90+1 minute.
With this impressive away win, Bayern Munich have taken a huge step toward the quarter-finals ahead of the second leg at Allianz Arena.
