Total dominance and goal fest… The Reds at their best
Liverpool secured a dominant 5-2 victory over West Ham United in Matchweek 28 of the Premier League at Anfield.
The hosts made a flying start, with Hugo Ekitike opening the scoring in the 5th minute. Virgil van Dijk doubled the lead in the 24th minute, before Alexis Mac Allister added a third just before halftime in the 43rd minute.
West Ham attempted a comeback early in the second half as Tomáš Souček pulled one back in the 49th minute. However, Cody Gakpo quickly restored Liverpool’s advantage with a fourth goal. Valentín Castellanos netted West Ham’s second in the 75th minute, but an own goal by Axel Disasi in the 83rd minute sealed an emphatic win for the Reds.
Liverpool now move up to 48 points in fifth place, while West Ham remain on 25 points in 18th.
