The title holders escape Monaco’s upset and secure their place in the Round of 16
Paris Saint-Germain secured their place in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League after a 2-2 draw against AS Monaco in the second leg of the playoff at Parc des Princes.
Monaco took the lead just before halftime through Maghnes Akliouche in the 45th minute, heading into the break with a narrow advantage.
Early in the second half, Monaco’s task became more difficult when Mamadou Coulibaly was sent off in the 59th minute after receiving his second yellow card.
PSG quickly capitalized on the numerical advantage, with Marquinhos equalizing in the 60th minute, before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put the hosts ahead in the 66th minute.
However, Jordan Teze scored a late equalizer in stoppage time (90+1), ending the match 2-2.
Having won the first leg 3-2, PSG advanced on aggregate 5-4, officially booking their spot in the knockout stage.
