Ahlawy's anger...an official complaint due to influential arbitration errors

Al-Ahly club management submitted an official complaint to the Egyptian Football Association against referee Mahmoud Wafa, who officiated the team’s match against Ceramica Cleopatra, in the first round of the coronation group in the Egyptian Premier League.The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but Al-Ahly expressed a clear objection to the refereeing performance, stressing in its statement that the referee committed influential errors that he described as “serious” and had a direct role in influencing the outcome. The match, on top of which was the failure to award a valid penalty kick, in addition to what it considered verbal and physical transgressions towards the team’s players.In its complaint, Al-Ahly demanded the necessity of reviewing the recordings of the conversations that took place between the arena referee and the video technology referee (VAR) during the review of the penalty kick shot, with its details announced to public opinion in order to achieve the principle of transparency, stressing its commitment to paying the prescribed fees for that.The club also called for the opening of a comprehensive investigation into the decisions taken by the referee after The end of the match, in addition to reviewing the reasons for his assignment to manage the match, despite his previous management of a confrontation between the two teams that witnessed an arbitration controversy, in addition to his return from Libya a few hours before the start of the match.Al-Ahly concluded its statement by emphasizing that it retained all its legal rights, and its readiness to take the necessary measures before the competent authorities, against the backdrop of what it described as the arbitration errors that the match witnessed.
